做好阅读理解，首先要搞清楚得分和阅读理解之间的关系。考研教育网提醒大家，读得好和做对题并不一定成正比，当然，完全读不懂是无法做题的。每篇文章后有4个问题，从问题所涵盖的信息量看，有些问题覆盖面大，如“中心意思”类的题;有些问题涉及到文章的某一段，甚至只是某一句话，其信息含量就很少了。5个问题的答案并不要求我们把文章读得十全十美，有些段落读不懂，甚至忽略不读，都是没有关系的。考生容易陷入的一个误区就是：读得太多，考虑得太全，以至轻视了问题。其实，考试以解题为目的，阅读只是手段。
其次，分清段落内部的主次内容。对于每一个英文段落，我们应该相信，它有一个论述的核心问题。至于作者用什么办法来阐述这个核心，则变化多样。阅读这个段落时，对核心问题的把握举足轻重。举个例子：

Morton's real opportunity, though, arrived when he became a member of Nebraska's state board of agriculture. More than one million trees were planted. A second Arbor Day took place in 1884 and the young state made it an annual legal holiday in 1885, using April 22nd to coincide with Morton's birthday. In the years following that first Arbor Day, Morton's idea spread beyond Nebraska with Kansas, Tennessee, Minnesota and Ohio all proclaiming their own Arbor Days.
